As a result of the Airport Runway Expansion Project, TCL&P will be performing electric system improvements west of Garfield Avenue along the southern and western edge of the airport property. Click HERE to view a map of the project area.
WHEN & WHAT TO EXPECT:
The project is scheduled to begin October 16, 2017, with an expected completion date of February 1, 2018.
The scope of this project will be to remove the existing overhead electric facilities and install new underground facilities along the airport property line. The undergrounding of the new power lines will be done by directional boring, which is a process of installing underground conduit with minimal impact to properties. Some of the activity will include the installation of conduit, the installation of new electric equipment and the removal of the existing pole line once the new facilities have been installed and energized.
The impact to property owners should be limited, however, brief outages may be needed in order to complete the job. TCL&P will communicate with customers in order to coordinate times as they are needed.
The electric system improvements are consistent with the utility’s mission to provide safe, reliable and competitively priced electricity to its customers.
