There are several different commercial rates and business customers should contact a customer service representative whenever changes occur that may impact energy requirements. This could include changes to building sizes or changes to electrical equipment. Upon request our customer service representative will analyze your energy requirements and apply the rate that is best for you. All rates, with the exception of the Green Rate, are subject to Light & Power's fuel power cost adjustment (FPCA).
Fuel-Power Cost Adjustment (FPCA)
Traverse City Light & Power buys electricity from various suppliers to supplement our power generating capabilities and meet the needs of our customers. Each month we pass along increases or decreases in those energy costs. This is seen on your monthly bill as the Fuel-Power Cost Adjustment (FPCA) and varies depending upon our fuel and power supply costs.
FPCA costs consist of coal, gas, additional energy purchased by L&P and some transmission expenses.
