Residential service is available to single family residences, and individually metered dwelling units in mobile home courts, apartment buildings, condominiums, and multiple dwelling units.
Besides the regular residential house hold rates which include hot water heating and electric space heating, there are special rates for senior citizens and customers who are dependant on life support systems. Upon request our customer service representative will analyze your energy requirements and apply the rate that is best for you. All rates, with the exception of the Green Rate, are subject to Light & Power's fuel power cost adjustment (FPCA).
Fuel-Power Cost Adjustment (FPCA)
Traverse City Light & Power buys electricity from various suppliers to supplement our power generating capabilities and meet the needs of our customers. Each month we pass along increases or decreases in those energy costs. This is seen on your monthly bill as the Fuel-Power Cost Adjustment (FPCA) and varies depending upon our fuel and power supply costs.
FPCA costs consist of coal, gas, additional energy purchased by L&P and some transmission expenses.
