Time of Use
Residential Eco Steady
The time-of-use rates are designed not to raise the bill of the average customer. However, if you can shift your electric usage to outside of on-peak hours, you can reduce your electric bills.
As of December 2025, customers will be transitioned to this rate, Phase-In. If you would like to sign up for the Non-Phased-In rate, contact a customer service representative at customerservice@tclp.org or call 231-922-4940.
Rate Breakdown

Ideas to Maximize Energy Savings
Upgrade to LED Lighting and Use Natural Light
LED bulbs use up to 75% less energy and last up to 25 times longer than traditional incandescent bulbs. Switching to LED lighting is an easy way to cut down on energy costs while keeping your home well-lit.
Also, take advantage of daylight hours by opening curtains and letting in natural sunlight. This reduces the need for artificial lighting and can help warm your home naturally.
Schedule Your Temp Settings
To save on heating and cooling, set your smart thermostat to a schedule that minimizes energy use during on-peak hours. For winter, 68-70 degrees is comfortable when you’re home, and 65 degrees is sufficient when you’re out.
Save Dish Duty for the Evening
Save money and energy by operating your dishwasher on full loads and during off-peak times. The delay setting is perfect for running it overnight after dinner when rates are lower.
