Overhead Wire Installation Munson Avenue

Dear Valued Utility Customer,

In an effort to improve reliability, Traverse City Light & Power (TCLP) will be performing work on Munson Avenue near the intersection of Three Mile Road.  This work will involve removal of old and installation of new overhead primary wire that crosses Munson Avenue which will require a temporary stoppage of traffic to perform the work safely. 

Work will take place on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 4:00 AM until approximately 6:00 AM; TCLP will work with local law enforcement to assist with the temporary stoppage of traffic during this time.  During this work the traffic signal at the intersection of Munson Avenue/Three Mile Road will experience an outage; the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has been notified of this outage.  MDOT intends to operate this traffic signal via battery backup, however, should the traffic signal lose backup power, non-functioning traffic signals shall be treated as an all way stop.  If possible, please use alternative routes to avoid this area to reduce congestion, delay, and promote worker safety.
